Should I give my social security number to my university health center for registration?

it asks for it. The medical school at the university I am going to. They want it as part of a paper registration for health care services while I am a student. Do I have to give it to them? Any likely problem without doing so?

    ask them to assign you some other number. they can not require you to use your SSN.
